As a company that has enjoyed 40 years of success and support thanks to our loyal customers and dedicated staff, we at Arizona Tile like to give back whenever we can. In honor of Memorial Day, here’s an update on our recent contributions to the Gary Sinise Foundation and Home Builders Foundation.

AZT Attends the “Walls of Honor” Event

On June 19, 2017, representatives from Arizona Tile teamed up with the Gary Sinise Foundation to contribute their time to a project supporting US Navy veteran Andrew Bottrell.

US Navy EOD1 Andrew Bottrell was deployed to Afghanistan in July 2011 with Seal Team 10. On October 1st, his vehicle was hit was struck by an IED, and he sustained serious injuries leading to the amputation of both of his legs and his left arm. Bottrell and veterans like him have given selflessly and sacrificed so much defending our country. Organizations like the Gary Sinise Foundation give back what they can to the men and women who have risked their lives.

Through the R.I.S.E. program, the Gary Sinise Foundation has built Bottrell a specially-adapted Smart Home designed to accommodate his unique needs and restore his self-reliance.

Arizona Tile’s own Bob Shuford, Mark Roberts and John Culver joined the foundation’s “Walls of Honor” event in San Diego at the site of Bottrell’s in-progress custom home. At this event, our reps had the opportunity to leave their mark with words of gratitude written on the unfinished walls of the house.

It was a remarkable experience meeting Andrew Bottrell and his family, and we’re proud to have had a part in this gesture of gratitude for everything he’s scarified.

About the Gary Sinise Foundation & R.I.S.E.

Actor Gary Sinise established the foundation in support of all defenders of the United States, including active-duty military, veterans, first responders and their families. The organization offers nine programs that serve to show support and gratitude to American heroes.

Among these programs is the R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment), which provides custom-built homes with automated amenities designed to ease the daily challenges faced by severely wounded veterans. The program also provides home and vehicle modifications and mobility devices to help restore mobility and independence. By the end of 2018, 66 homes will be completed or under construction thanks to R.I.S.E.

Businesses, suppliers, manufacturers and installers in the construction industry can help support veterans through the R.I.S.E. program by donating their time, labor and materials. For more information, visit the foundation website at Gary Sinise Foundation.

The foundation is supported by the efforts and donations of dozens of partners and contributors. Arizona Tile provided tiles to HBF, as we have done other times in the past—it’s the least we can do to show our support for such a great organization.
